2008 BIFF Dedication - Ken Hendricks

Welcome to BIFF 2008.

I’m so proud to be back in Beloit to celebrate the roots of my creative work and the wonderful new Beloit International Film Festival. My career has been built on creativity and it was here, in the theatres at Beloit College, that I showed my first films. Later, not too far from here, I created my first jewelry and the other items that have taken me in many exciting directions, one of which is back home to Wisconsin.

I want to welcome all the visitors to Beloit for these four days. In particular I want to welcome the new filmmakers who have traveled—some quite a distance—to show their work and talk about their films as they develop their careers. I can assure you that you will have a receptive and interested audience in Beloit. You will find that the BIFF audience not only wants to see your work, they want to get to know you. They are ready to support the work of new filmmakers with financial grants from the Emerging Artists Fund.

BIFF really is “the next big thing” and it is great to be a part of it.

Sincerely,

Robert Lee Morris

Film Festivals are a wonderful way to expose a world of creative consciousness without regard to boundaries. Film, an original American art form has circled the globe and is now an art form owned by all human kind. The film festival experience invites its audience to see the world from the eyes and perspective of today’s everyman.

The technological breakthroughs of the past decade permit us all to paint visions of the world on a film or digital canvas for all to share. Join us and celebrate in the experience we present to you at this year’s Beloit International Film Festival and those of our friends listed below.

We encourage you to visit the linked sites below to explore the opportunities they will present to film fans everywhere.
